Sumner Bank & Trust Announces the Retirement of Mike Cook President and CEO
and Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer

Ronnie Fox, Chairman of the Board of Sumner Bank & Trust, has announced the retirement of bank President and CEO, Mike Cook. Chairman Fox commented, “Mike led us through the organization of our bank in 2004 and startup in 2005 and through the challenging times and economic uncertainties facing our country in recent years.  Mike’s leadership helped establish Sumner Bank & Trust as a strong local community bank operating in a very competitive market among many regional and national banks.  We are grateful to Mike for his sustained, consistent leadership, and we wish him all the best.”

The board also announced the promotion of Keith Hatley to President and Chief Executive Officer of Sumner Bank & Trust.  Chairman Fox stated, “Keith began his banking career in 1991, and has served our bank in many capacities since its inception.  The Bank has been transitioning through this leadership change for some time which has enabled Keith to prepare for this new role. We are extremely fortunate to have such a strong and capable banker to take over the reins of leadership for Sumner Bank & Trust.” 

Keith Hatley is a lifelong Gallatin resident and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.  Commenting on his new position, Hatley stated, “I am eager, excited, and humbled at the opportunity to lead Sumner Bank & Trust.  I am committed to the residents of Sumner County and to the shareholders of Sumner Bank & Trust.  I am looking forward to leading the Bank toward a promising future and to continue strengthening our bank’s position as a local, independent bank and THE bank of choice in Sumner County.”
